Education & Experience

With more than 40 years of public accounting experience, Tom provides a diversified clientele of business owners and individuals located in the four-state region with accounting, tax, and advisory services. His clients include various sales- and service-oriented businesses, restaurants, law firms, architects, contractors, technology companies, manufacturing companies, and retail establishments, as well as high net worth individuals. In addition to a strong background in individual and business taxation, Tom also has extensive experience in estate, trust, and non-profit tax matters.

Prior to forming Williams Houck & Company in January 2005, Tom was a partner in a local CPA firm for seven years, following eight years of working as a sole practitioner in Wilmington, Delaware. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants (DSCPA).

 

Social & Community

Outside of his professional activities, he has a strong interest in historic preservation and restoration. A lifetime Delawarean and long-time resident of Wilmington, he currently lives with his wife in Wilmington in a circa 1875 house in the Highlands area that they are in the process of restoring. In the late 1990’s he served as Treasurer of Preservation Delaware, Inc. and has been active in other historic preservation efforts over the years. He is currently serving as Treasurer of the Delaware Humanities Forum, and Treasurer of the Light Up the Queen Foundation, which spearheaded the restoration of the historic Queen Theater on Market Street in Wilmington, Delaware.
